Well, they've really done themselves proud here; they have adapted the incredible L39 fit 15mm Super Wide Heliar lens to Nikon F SLR fit in the same style as the original non retrofocus 21mm f4 Nikkor their first fisheye, the 8mm f8 and 10mm f5.6 OP fisheye. There were all "Mirror Up" lenses for use on the Nikon F and F2 with the 'permanent' mirror lock up unabled. The 15mm SW Heliar works in this same way on the F and F2, and should operate in the same way on F3, F4 and F5 cameras with 'permanent' mirror lock up, (mechanically locked mirror lock up, as opposed to the more recent type that pre releases the mirror for one shot, with the mirror coming down for the next shot), but Voigtlander have only specified the lens for F and F2 cameras. The 15mm lens is supplied with an optical viewfinder, which can be used on an F or F2 camera with the optional accessory shoe base as lised with the 12mm UW Heliar lens above. |
